The Briar Cliff University Pro Bono Clinic, with its emphasis on providing
allied healthcare services for the uninsured and underinsured as well as its
programs to promote community health and wellness, will afford Briar Cliff
University physical therapy, nursing, psychology, social work with Spanish
interpretation option and an opportunity to develop an understanding of social
responsibility as well as to appreciate the contribution they might make to
society in their future healthcare practice.

The Clinic complements existing physical therapy services in the Siouxland
region and does not compete with present clinics.  The Clinic works with
community health clinics and local physical therapy practices to identify
patients who are turned away from local physical therapy clinics due to their
uninsured statuses as well as those discharged from local physical therapy
clinics to due exhausted insurance benefits for physical therapy.
The Clinic provides traditional physical therapy services for no fee by
physical therapy students under the supervision of a licensed physical
therapist.  The Clinic also serves as a center for other healthcare
initiatives that could positively influence the health and wellness of
Siouxland community residents.
